Square Enix CEO Thanks Phil Spencer For Making Final Fantasy 14 On Xbox A ‘Reality’
At the Final Fantasy 14 Fan Fest earlier, it was announced Square Enix’s popular MMO would finally be making its way across to Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S in Spring 2024.
Phil Spencer had a lot of praise for Square Enix and Square Enix’s CEO Takashi Kiryu also had some kind words for the Xbox boss – noting how Phil’s efforts helped make this release a “reality” and it “wouldn’t have been possible” without him.
The Square Enix boss also urged Xbox fans to give the Final Fantasy MMO a try when it arrives – mentioning how excited he is to finally see Xbox support added and can’t wait to welcome the Xbox community to the world of Hydaelyn.
Final Fantasy 14 game producer and director Naoki Yoshida reiterated just how excited Square Enix is about this partnership: “I am extremely thankful and we are committed to working with Xbox going forward.”
Phil himself followed up with a post on social media after the event had concluded, mentioning how “thrilled” the Xbox team is:
“Enjoyed being onstage with Yoshi-P and Kiryu-san to announce Final Fantasy XIV coming to Xbox. We’re thrilled that the Xbox community will join the Warriors of Light and we look forward to partnering closely with Square Enix on future games.”
When this MMO launches on Xbox next year, players can enjoy the game up to level 70, with no restrictions on playtime and access to the Heavensward and Stormblood expansions.
