Final Fantasy Tactics Remaster Is ‘Coming,’ Says Jason Schreier

Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier has given hope to a Final Fantasy Tactics Remaster on Twitter, although didn’t go into any further details. He simply said it’s ‘coming’ when asked by a fan ‘where is Final Fantasy Tactics Remaster?.’

While that’s all Schreier has to say on a remaster of the much-loved tactical RPG, it’s worth remembering that Ichiro Hazama, the producer behind Theatrhythm Final Bar Line, has said that the team behind Final Fantasy Tactics is very busy at the moment, which fuelled hope that a remaster is in the pipeline.

Square Enix hasn’t announced anything official about a Final Fantasy Tactics Remaster at the moment, but given they seem to be open to doing remakes and remasters nowadays (we’ve seen HD versions of FFVII and FFVIII, plus of course the ongoing FFVII Remake project), there’s always hope.

Final Fantasy Tactics was originally released for the PSOne back in 1997 and 1998 in Japan and US, respectively, although has never seen the light of day in Europe. The game sold over 2.4 million copies worldwide and is regarded as one of the all-time greatest video games.
