Global Game Jam
Algoma University was one of the few Canadian host sites for the first ever international Global Game Jam. With past success we will be hosting this event again in 2010 and encourage all interested students at Algoma University to participate. This year the event will take place from January 29 to 31. Event and sign up information will be available soon.
The Global Game Jam brings together talented individuals and teams from around the globe and rallies them around a central theme, for which they have 48 hours to create their game. In 2009 the event had 1,650 participants at 54 locations in 23 countries! Participating in the GGJ is an exciting opportunity for students to learn what is involved in creating a game on a deadline and the importance of team work. GGJ is a showcase of the creativity and talent of the international game development community and an excellent addition to a student's resume.
