Undergraduate Degree Admissions Information
Applying to Algoma University for undergraduate admissions is really very simple, but the application procedures and admission requirements will vary, depending on your individual circumstances. Please use the guide below to determine the procedures and requirements that apply to you.
When do I apply?
It is recommended that Canadian students apply at least 2 months prior to their intended start date. It is recommended that International students apply at least 4-5 months prior to their intended start date in order to have sufficient time to secure a study permit. Algoma U has rolling admission; therefore, applications will be accepted on a continuous basis for September, January, and May admission.
The best time to begin your 4 year Bachelor of Computer Science, Computer Games Technology degree is in the fall, however Algoma University has three intakes:
1. September (fall)
2. January (winter)
3. May (spring)
Full-time Canadian Students
Application Procedures for Full-Time September Admission
To enroll full-time in Algoma University for September admission, you must apply via the Ontario Universities' Application Centre (OUAC). You can either apply on-line at www.ouac.on.ca or request a paper application from OUAC by calling (519) 823-1940.
Use application 101 if you are currently enrolled in an Ontario high school, otherwise, use application 105.
All official transcripts (high school, university, and college) must be sent directly to:

Application Procedures for January, May, and Part-Time Admission
All January, May, and part-time applicants must apply directly to Algoma University. You can request a paper application by emailing info@algomau.ca or phone (705) 949-2301 ext. 4217. You can also apply on-line.

3) Send non-refundable $50 (CDN funds) application fee payable to Algoma University

International Baccalaureate Admission Guidelines
-The IB Diploma with a minimum of 28 points is accepted for admission
-Candidates with 30 points or higher in the IB Diploma qualify for scholarship consideration
-Upon attainment of 28 points in the IB diploma, a minimum grade of 5 in Higher Level courses is required for consideration of credit transfer
-Transfer credit may be given to a maximum of 30 credits, which is equivalent to ten 3-credit courses or year one

Advanced Placement Admission Guidelines
Applicants who have completed AP exams with a minimum final grade of 4 will be eligible to receive university credits for up to a maximum of 12 credits (or two full courses). To inquire about AP eligibility, please contact admissions@algomau.ca
Mature Student Application Procedures for Canadian Students
The university will consider for admission mature students whose previous school performance or recent work record suggests a strong possibility for academic success. Click here for more information.
Letter of Permission Application Procedures
If you are currently enrolled in a university other than Algoma U but would like to take a course(s)at Algoma U for recognition towards your "home" university degree, you will require a LETTER OF PERMISSION from your "home" university's Registrar's Office.
1) Complete the Algoma U application
2) Send official transcripts (high school, college, and university if applicable)
3) Send non-refundable $50 (CDN funds) application fee payable to Algoma U
4)Submit your LETTER OF PERMISSION (LOP) with application or show it in person when registering for your Algoma U courses. Please note, you will not be allowed to register without your LOP.

American Student Application Procedures
Applicants who have completed grade 12 at a secondary school in the United States will be considered for admission. The grade 12 program must include five academic courses, including English. Applicants must provide SAT or ACT scores for consideration. A minimum B average in a recognized academic grade 12 program is required along with a SAT score of 1, 100 or an ACT score of 21.

When will I know if I've been accepted to Algoma U?
The admissions office will assess your application once we receive all necessary documents including:
1)Completed application
2)All official transcripts (scanned, faxed, and photocopied documents are not acceptable for admission)
3)Non-refundable application fee (for non-OUAC applicants)
4)Proof of English language proficiency (if applicable)
If you have not submitted all documents or did not pay the application fee, your application will not be processed. Please see detailed application procedures listed below for further information.
